Bio
My name is Christene Southern. Although I was born in Ellijay, Ga, I have lived in Murray county for most of my life. I attended Gladden Middle School and Murray County High School as a teenager.

I have one son, Bryan, who attends Dalton State College. I have three dogs - Lexi, Millie, and Mac and one cat - Ace. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I love to travel and be outdoors. Some of my hobbies include kayaking, snow skiing, hiking, and biking.

This is my 16th year of teaching at Chatsworth Elementary. I completed my student teaching in Second grade at Coker Elementary. After graduating from the University of West Georgia, I became a Kindergarten teacher at Chatsworth Elementary. I taught Kindergarten for 11 years. For 3 years, I taught Reading and Math in an EIP setting for 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. This is my second year as a Second grade teacher. I am happy to have begun the second half of my teaching career in the grade level I began as a student teacher. I know we will have a fantastic year together!
