I received a Bachelors of Science in the field of Outdoor Recreation from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  I have also received a Masters of Education from the University of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

I grew up in Highwood, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.  After graduating from Highland Park High School, I continued my education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  A highlight of my college experience was being an intern for the Alaska State Parks system in Chugach Alaska for three months.  In 1996, I moved to Cleveland, Tennessee where I worked for the city Parks and Recreation Department.  After five years with the City of Cleveland, I moved on to pursue my degree in education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Russ, and we live with our adorable cat Felix in Cleveland, Tennessee.  We love to hike, camp and ride mountain bikes.  When not at school, you will probably find me somewhere outside, either taking a long hike or getting my hands dirty in my garden.
