My name is Karen Jones and I will begin my 27th year in education Fall 2015.  I am currently an ESS inclusion teacher at Chatsworth Elementary and thoroughly enjoy what I do.

My career began in 1989 after being a stay home mom with 3 children.  I graduated from West Georgia College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Ten years later, I completed a Master's of Education degree from Brenau University, then ten years after that I completed an Education Specialist degree all in Early Childhood Education. Many of my teaching years, I have been a student as well.

I began my career at Springplace Elementary as a parapro in 1989 and began my first teaching position there as an ESS teacher as well in 1993.

When Coker Elementary opened, I moved to the new school as an ESS teacher for one year, then became a classroom teacher for 5th grade later moving to 4th.

In 2009, I relocated to GMS for half of the school year before transferring to Chatsworth Elementary to finish the year in 6th grade. The next two years were spent teaching 4th grade before returning to an ESS inclusion position, which is my current assignment at CES.

I have loved each experience, but most of all I love how each student has touched my life over each year.

My life is blessed beyond measure. My husband Larry and I have been married for 36 years. We have three wonderful children and 3 terrific grandsons.

We are active members of Salem Baptist Church.

I enjoy traveling, reading, playing Words with Friends, cooking, and family dinners.

Psalm 23 is my favorite scripture with Psalm 23:1 being my life verse, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want".

Blessed beyond measure..................
