Education

Ms. Adams graduated from William V. Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster, Ohio in 1988.  From there, she went on to Eastern Kentucky University and graduated with a Bachelor's in Music Education in 1992 with an emphasis in instrumental music on the bassoon.  After teaching for several years, Ms. Adams went back to school at West Georgia to add the elementary classroom certification to her teaching certificate.  Later, she went to Lincoln Memorial University and earned her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, graduating in 2005.



Experience

Ms. Adams taught music in Lexington, Kentucky before having her children.  She then was a stay-at- home mom for 8 years, until her children were both in school.  She returned to education first as a para-pro and then moved on to teaching second grade at Roan Street School in Dalton.  After buying a home in Murray County, she decided to begin teaching in Murray County and was hired at Northwest Elementary.  She taught there until moving here to Chatsworth Elementary.  Ms. Adams taught 2nd grade for 11 years before going back to teaching music.



Bio

Ms. Adams grew up in Lancaster, Ohio and lived there until going away to Eastern Kentucky University for college.  She then lived in Kentucky until moving back to Ohio in 1993.  While living in Ohio, her daughter Abigail was born. She moved to Dalton, Georgia in 1996. 

While living in Dalton, Ms. Adams' son Aaron was born.  She stayed home with her children and taught music lessons at the Dalton Creative Arts Guild, later taking a half day teaching position in Pre-K. She purchased her home in Murray County near Spring Place Elementary in 2002. 

Ms. Adams' musical interests include many different things.  She takes piano lessons.  She teaches private woodwind lessons.  She is the Minister of Music at Chatsworth First United Methodist Church.  She plays the flute, bassoon, clarinet, and oboe for churches and other organizations.  She also sings for weddings, funerals, and Other events.

Ms. Adams is passionate about her hobbies.  Ms. Adams also loves scrapbooking, folk art painting, rubber stamping, quilting, and knitting.  She enjoys hiking in the woods, and attending broadway shows and orchestra concerts. 

Ms. Adams' daughter, Abigial is now 20 years old..  Abigail sings and plays the french horn and the trumpet.  Ms. Adams' son, Aaron is now 16 years old and is in the 11th grade at North Murray High School.  Aaron sings in the choir at church and is a member of the NMHS band in which he plays the tuba.
